Warner Bros. Finds Their Apostle Paul for New Faith Based Project

According to some major publications, Warner Bros. has signed none other than Hugh Jackman to play the Apostle Paul in a faith project with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as producers. Though no director has been chosen, Matt Cook is set to write the screenplay. Hugh Jackman of course is best known for playing the Wolverine in the X-MEN series, but he’s also no stranger to faith content as he portrayed Jean Valjean in the Movieguide® Award winning movie LES MISERABLES back in 2012. Additionally, Hugh Jackman is likely familiar with the source material after growing up in a Christian home when his father was converted to Christianity at a Billy Graham crusade.

A movie on the Apostle Paul, who went from persecuting Christians to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ in miraculous ways is one of many Bible based movies from major studios in the works. Among the others is CHRIST THE LORD releasing in early 2016, a remake of BEN HUR and THE TEN COMMANDMENTS and an epic on the story of David and Goliath. Riding on the success of the hit movies HEAVEN IS FOR REAL and GOD’S NOT DEAD, well made movies that represent the values and beliefs of the Christian community are still sorely needed and much desired. Something Movieguide® has been encouraging in Hollywood for decades.
