The British government has asked Internet service providers to protect children and block sex sites, and require people to “opt in” to receive the sex sites rather than “opt out” of them, as they do now with computer parental controls.
“It is very important that it’s the ISPs that come up with solutions to protect children,” Ed Vaizey, the communications minister, said. “I’m hoping they will get their acts together so that we don’t have to legislate.”
