Pixar is 11 for 11

TOY STORY 3 raked in $109 million over the weekend, making it Disney/Pixar’s most successful opening yet. The film also takes the cake for having the biggest opening weekend ever for the month of June.

But the record-breaking doesn’t stop there. Woody and the rest of the toy chest dazzled on IMAX screens across the nation, earning $8.4 million, nearly doubling what SHREK FOREVER AFTER made.

The not-so-family-friendly flick, JONAH HEX, only brought it half as much mulah as was projected, making a measly $5.1 versus an optimistic $10 million.

By consistently and creatively telling stories that delight, excite, surprise and astound, while simultaneously bursting open with heartwarming themes and important life lessons for all ages, Pixar seems to have found the winning formula for box office excellence.
