More Detail:

Was there ever a time when parents and children understood each other? Maybe not entirely, but the new video tape from Paraclete Television, BUMPS IN THE ROAD, is a terrific guide for parents and early teenagers to help establish communication and deal with the problems that they face together. Hosted by Terence McDonald, associate professor at Buffalo State College, this program is organized into several units which examine: first, the early teens point of view; next, their parents point of view; often, a dramatic skit about the issue in question; and, finally, a forum discussion including all the participating teenagers and parents.

The issues examined are embarrassment, anger, fear, and hurt. The comments by the teenagers and the parents get at the root of problems that normally arise within a family. Watching BUMPS IN THE ROAD and discussing it with your children will help stop conflicts by presenting practical solutions with wit and wisdom. It also provides useful tools to make it easier to communicate and will give you insight into some of the barriers that keep parents and children from talking to each other. BUMPS IN THE ROAD is highly recommended as a helpful tool to improve relationships between teenagers and their parents.
