Family Advocate Ted Baehr Challenges Some of Hollywood’s Box Office Figures Hollywood, Calif. – The box office receipts of “Jackass 3D” and other Hollywood hits may be vastly inflated. So says Dr. Ted Baehr, publisher of Movieguide®: The Family Guide to Movies and Entertainment Dr. Baehr said an independent producer of a small movie competing with “Jackass 3D” told Dr. Baehr recently that block ticket sales for his movie came back listed under tickets for the “Jackass” movie. The producer also said that “This is not an unusual story,” Dr. Baehr noted. “This is how the six major movie studios in Hollywood keep their market share – by cheating producers and other filmmakers.” Dr. Baehr added, “Several of the activities these studios use are illegal, but nobody wants to challenge them, because they would be dead in Hollywood if they did.
