More Detail:

LIGHT SLEEPER focuses on John LeTour, a 40-year old drug delivery man and his “bad luck.” Although John hasn’t taken cocaine in two years, he continues to sell it with his partners, Ann and Robert. All three long to quit and make an honest living, but hesitate because the money is good. John runs into Marianne, his ex-wife, whom he hasn’t seen in years. She hesitates being with John because the temptation to go back into the lifestyle is great. However, a lingering kiss between them leads into the bedroom. When Marianne’s mother dies in the hospital, she blames John. Troubled, John consults an astrologer about his future. She tells John to beware of death and that a woman will betray him. LIGHT SLEEPER continues with John plagued by “bad luck,” resulting in the death of several friends, and ultimately, his own demise.

From start to finish, LIGHT SLEEPER is filled with occultism, drugs, fornication, nudity, violence, murder, suicide, and foul language. Actually, taking drugs is a form of witchcraft because it is a a pathway to an alternate reality. The Greek “pharmakeia” means sorcery or witchcraft. Ultimately, LIGHT SLEEPER is a real downer.
