Most of us have had a good idea that might have rivaled the paper clip or the Ribvuk’s Cube for entrepreneurial success… if we had seen it through to fruition. Certainly, wonderful friends have said, “I thought of that idea!” Of course, if you get a good idea, you’ve got to get it to market, which means you need money.

SHARK TANK is a Reality TV show that highlights the great freedom and opportunity of the entrepreneurial American system. People of ordinary stature from all over the United States come to pitch their ideas to raise money from five successful entrepreneurs who made it themselves on their own.

In Episode 422, one young man came up with a belt that works like a zipper. Shark after shark turned him down, until one of them, who made his fortune in fashion, said he would partner with him. Sometimes, the person with the idea refuses the offer. Once in a while, the economics don’t make sense, such as the idea of Tracy and Danielle, who are trying to sell cupcakes in a mason jar. Some of the ideas are too big for the sharks, such as a power-generating device that relied on waves to generate power. Whatever the idea, the analysis by the team of sharks on how to make it work and bring it to market is fascinating.

SHARK TANK should be must viewing for young people, since schools no longer teach people the advantage of the free market system. SHARK TANK is the place where dreams are fulfilled.
