Kendrick Brothers Gear Up For New Untitled Project
By Allyson Vannatta, Staff Writer
The Kendrick Brother’s aren’t basking in the glory of how well their most recent movie, OVERCOMER, scored at the box office. Instead, they’re gearing up to start their next movie, which is scheduled to begin shooting sometime this year.
Alex Kendrick told Christian Headlines that the brothers’ next movie is based on a true story and is in the early stages of development.
Kendrick directed all six movies he and his brothers have made; however, he isn’t sure if he will continue that pattern on the next project.

Kendrick told Christian Headlines,
“We know we’re going to executive produce it, but we’re also using this next one to give [an opportunity to] some of these young Christian filmmakers that are so talented – and we’re trying to help mentor them. They will have a larger part in the next one.”
“We will continue making movies ourselves, but at the same time, we’ve got to start passing the torch and investing in other filmmakers [who will] continue doing this for decades down the road. We are finding some talented, sold-out young filmmakers.”
OVERCOMER made $38 million at the worldwide box office.
According to the Movieguide® review,
“OVERCOMER is the heartwarming, often funny, poignant story of a teenage girl named Hannah who runs to Christ. Hannah lives with her grandmother in Franklin, Georgia. Hannah decides to try out for the high school cross-country team. Her coach, John Harrison, struggles with losing some athletes from his basketball team and must accept the fact that God has made him the cross-country track coach for a reason.”
