Dolly Parton can add three more accolades to her impressive list of achievements. She was recently presented with three new certificates for Guinness World Records.
The Movieguide® Grace Prize® winner now holds records for the most decades (seven) and most No. 1 hits (25) on the Billboard US Hot Country Songs chart, both for a female artist. She also broke her own record for the most hits on the chart in general, with 109 songs making it on to Billboard’s charts.
“This is the kind of stuff that really makes you very humble and very grateful for everything that’s happened,” the singer said. “I had no idea that I would be in Guinness World Records this many times! I am flattered and honored. I’ve had a lot of people help me get here. Thanks to all of you and all of them for helping me have all of this.”
“I’ve loved being able to make a living in the business that I love so much,” Parton continued. “I’ve been so fortunate to see my dreams come true, and I just hope to continue for as long as I can. You’re going to have to knock me down to stop me!”
Even though Parton has been in the business for decades, she remains very popular. This year, she earned her 50th Grammy nomination; her first was in 1970. Parton’s first Grammy win was for the album “Here You Come Again.”
Parton is the second-most nominated woman in Grammy history, only behind Beyoncé, who has 79 nominations and 24 wins. The country singer was given the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.

Dolly Parton said that she established a habit of getting up early to get the most out of her day, which always starts with God.
“I’m always, almost always up for good around 3 a.m. So I do some of my best spiritual work, some of my best writing, and some of my business work—call-ins and letters that I’m writing or whatever—between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. I get more work done during that little period of time when the world is calm, energies are down, and I just feel like a farmer. They say the early bird gets the worm. Well, they also get a lot of good ideas too,” Parton said.
Parton said that she treasures the early morning because it allows her to focus on God and ask Him how to glorify His name through her work throughout the rest of her day.
“I’m a very spiritual person,” Parton said. “Every single day, before I do anything, I wake up and I thank God for the night and ask Him to bless the day and to bring all the right things… all the wrong people out of my life, and bring all the right stuff in. And just to guide me, lead me. And I always pray that he’ll let me uplift mankind and glorify Him.”
