Christie Brinkley Reveals Anti-Aging Secret: ‘It’s Really About Gratitude’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Former Sports Illustrated model Christie Brinkley has revealed the secret to aging gracefully: gratitude.

“It all has to do with your spirit and the energy that you deliver, that you bring into the room with you,” said Brinkley. “That’s what is going to define you. Forget anti-aging this and all of that. It’s really about gratitude. And when you find something to be grateful about in whatever situation you’re in, and wherever you may find yourself, that translates to happiness, and happiness and good energy that you can share with other people.”

Gratitude is a major principle of Christianity, with many Bible verses centered around the idea of giving thanks to God at all times.

For example, Thessalonians 5:18 tells us, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

The Psalms also remind us to maintain a spirit of gratitude. “Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!,” Psalms 95:2 reads, while Psalms 107:1 reminds us to “give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!”

Movieguide® previously reported on fellow celeb Michael J. Fox’s emphasis on gratitude in day-to-day life:

BACK TO THE FUTURE star Michael J. Fox recently reflected on his 30-year anniversary since his Parkinson’s diagnosis.

Fox, 60, told AARP that he focuses on gratitude and is a “genuinely happy guy.”

“If you don’t think you have anything to be grateful for, keep looking. Because you don’t just receive optimism. You can’t wait for things to be great and then be grateful for that. You’ve got to behave in a way that promotes that,” Fox told the outlet.
