Actor Mario Lopez Celebrates Oldest Son’s First Communion: ‘Couldn’t Be More Proud’

Actor Mario Lopez, best known for SAVED BY THE BELL, recently took to social media to celebrate his son’s first communion at their family’s church.

“Our Dominic had his 1st Holy Communion & we couldn’t be more proud…” Lopez captioned a photo of him and his family.

Lopez and his wife, Courtney Mazza, married in 2012 and share three children: 10-year-old Gia, 7-year-old Dominic, and 2-year-old Santino.

Lopez is open about his Catholic faith and was baptized in the Jordan River in Israel in 2018.

“We are at the Jordan River where John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ,” he said in a video posted on his Twitter. “I’m about to get baptized. It’s a beautiful day. There’s a really cool Catholic priest that’s gonna do me the honors. And there’s a sermon going on right now. So I’m going to join these fine folks and then, bam! It’s on!”

In 2017, Lopez said that he makes Sunday morning church a priority for his family.

“I think as I’ve gotten older, I’ve just tried to build a more spiritual muscle in a business that is very unpredictable,” he told Fox News Latino. “It’s nice to have something that is consistent in our life – family and faith is that for me.”
