Ten-year-old Instagram phenomenon Jeremiah Fennell went viral this weekend after conducting a heartfelt interview at the Pro Bowl with Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.
“I admire and respect you so much because of the Christian man that you are on and off the field,” Fennell said.
“I know what that looks like because my dad is also a God-fearing Christian man, and he always teaches me to treat my mom like the queen of the family that she is,” he added. “I noticed that every time you talk about your wife your face lights up. You smile like you’re talking about your best friend.”
Fennell went on to ask Carr when he knew that Heather, Carr’s wife, was “the one.”
“It was the first date that we went on,” he told Fennell. “I asked her what she wanted in a husband, and I told her what I wanted in a wife. As we began talking, I knew I was going to marry her at that moment.”
Fennell also asked Carr about his sons and what he would do if one of them wanted to be in the NFL.
“If that’s what’s in his heart and that’s what he wants to do, I would absolutely let him pursue anything he wants to do.”
While Carr knows about knows about football injuries, “football helped change my life, and I’ve been able to bless a lot of people just by being able to throw football.”
Because of those opportunities, “I would support [my son] and give him all the information and anything that I could to help him achieve his dreams,” he added.
Fennell concluded the interview by commenting on the uncertainty Carr faces going into the offseason as he looks to be traded.
“I’m not concerned about what happens to you this coming offseason. No matter what colors you wear or what team you play on, we both know that God has you in his hands, and in the end, [you] don’t even have control,” Fennell said as Carr nodded in agreement.
“In Jesus’ name, Amen”
This might be the best thing you’ll see today. Jeremiah is an absolute stud. Watch this interview and look out for a powerful prayer at the end with @derekcarrqb. @LorraineGolden_ pic.twitter.com/QGFqjQpVEg

Fennell concluded the interview with the Serenity Prayer before sharing a hug with Carr.
Movieguide® previously reported on Carr’s ministry opportunities:
Carr said that at one point, he would’ve hung up the jersey if God called him into ministry; but he realized that he has a current ministry on the field.
“It was in that moment where I think the Lord knew that my heart was His, and I’ve been able to minister to thousands of people,” Carr said. “I’ve been in stadiums — 15,000, 18,000 people — preaching the Gospel and watching thousands of people get saved. I’ve seen healings take place. I’ve seen people set free. I’ve seen marriages reunite. I’ve seen kids come back home. All while playing football.”
Carr said that he enjoys the challenge of sharing Christ with non-believing teammates.
“Honestly, it’s fun,” he told Wells. “Some of the best conversations I’ve had are with non-believers because there’s an interest. Sometimes there’s a big ‘no’ sign up, and it’s just fun to talk about. Like, ‘Hey, we can disagree, and we can just talk about it.’”
Carr said that regardless of outside pressure to suppress the truth, he focuses on pleasing God first.
