Kansas City Chiefs Win Super Bowl LVII on Game-Winning Field Goal: ‘All Glory to God’

NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes led his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, to their second Super Bowl win in four years after a comeback win against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.
The Chiefs, who were down 24-14 at halftime, sealed their 38-35 victory with a game clinching field goal by kicker Harrison Butker in the final seconds of the game.
“You just got to go out and focus on what you can control,” Butker said of the game-winning kick. “I kind of had the easy job there. Offensive line did a great job blocking, great snap, great hold and thankfully the ball went through, and all glory to God.”
Although Butker kicked the field goal, Mahomes battled through an ankle injury to put together two touchdown drives in the final quarter. Mahomes finished the game with 182 passing yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions and 44 rushing yards.
“I felt really good until I reaggravated [the ankle] a little bit,” Mahomes said of his injury after the game. “But you’re in the Super Bowl, you can worry about getting it healthy in the offseason. So I just kind of just fought through and we were able to win the game.”
Linebacker Nick Bolton led the Chiefs defense with nine tackles and a forced fumble from Eagle’s quarterback Jalen Hurts, which he ran in for a touchdown in the second quarter.
“I actually had a dream about scooping and scoring in the Super Bowl two nights ago,” Bolton said. “For it to happen is surreal. I just thank God, my family, teammates and coaches, and my community and Chiefs Kingdom. They all played a part in this win for sure.”
