Ree Drummond’s Daughter Truck Stolen With Bible Inside: ‘I Just Keep Praying That Whoever Took It Gets Use Out of the Bible’

Ree Drummond’s daughter, Alex had her truck stolen from her outside of her father-in-law’s house in Texas.
Alex Drummond posted on her Instagram stories (which are no longer available) that her nor her husband, Mauricio Scott, left anything of much value inside the truck. However, there was something of sentimental value inside, Drummond’s Bible. For the last ten years, Drummond has made notes inside her Bible.
“My bible was in there, which is kind of sad — my bible that I’ve taken notes on for like 10 years, but you know what, I just keep praying that whoever took it, somehow gets some use out of the bible,” Drummond said. “That is my prayer through all of this.”
Drummond recalled that she locked her truck and took her keys inside with her upon arriving to her father in law’s house.
“And Mauricio was going to golf with his dad that morning and came out and the car was gone,” she stated on her Instagram story. She also noted that there was shattered glass all around and the couple confirmed with the local police that the vehicle hadn’t been towed.
“I didn’t know how common it is for cars to get stolen without the key. Like I had my key. I had my car locked – didn’t even think that could really happen,” Drummond added.
Drummond touched on the fact that she grew up very “trusting.”
“Maybe it’s because of where I grew up,” she expressed. “I’m always cautious, but I never assumed that someone was going to steal from me. I’ve always just been very optimistic in that realm and now I feel like I have this new like jaded view. I’m so on edge about like locking every door.”

PIONEER WOMAN star Ree Drummond recently opened up about her foster son, Jamar, who is now 18.
“That’s really the first time that I’ve introduced Jamar to the world,” the celebrity chef said, referencing his inclusion in her new book of essays, Frontier Follies. “He’s been living with us for about a year and a half.”
Drummond said: “[Fostering] wasn’t really anything my husband and I sought out to do or necessarily felt called to do.”
However, the couple is excited about their life with Jamar and his future.
“He’s basically been a full-fledged part of our family for over a year and a half,” Drummond said.
Although Jamar lived with Drummond’s family for over a year, she noted that she had to avoid a public announcement “because of regulations with the state agencies.”
Drummond continued: “Also, I was pretty protective of him, and I didn’t want to just suddenly put him on my social media and put him in the public life. He’s 18 now and he started sort of saying ‘I feel like you’re hiding me from the world,’ so once he turned 18, I felt like it was time to share and he’s very happy to have his story told.”
Drummond and her husband, Ladd, share four other children: daughters Alex, 23, and Paige, 21; and sons Bryce, 18, and Todd, 16. The PIONEER WOMAN host is open about her kids’ lives and significant milestones.
According to Drummond, Ladd first met Jamar during a high school football practice in Pawhuska, Okla. Upon learning Jamar’s story, Drummond said the couple started to consider welcoming him into their home.
Drummond said Jamar’s future is bright and also describes the 18-year-old as “an inextricable part of our wacky family.”
“Through a ton of determination, Jamar has excelled in football, and he’s already received a couple of college offers, with more sure to come in!” Drummond said. “I’m proud of the kid, and I can’t wait to see where life takes him. I’ll be in the stands cheering him on.”
Ree and Ladd Drummond wed in 1996 and continue to live in Pawhuska. Ree Drummond, aside from her Food Network show, also runs a hotel, restaurant, bakery and general store.
