Jim Caviezel Thankful for SOUND OF FREEDOM’s Overwhelming Support

Jim Caviezel thanked Angel Studios and millions of moviegoers for their overwhelming support of SOUND OF FREEDOM.
“I’d like to, first of all, thank Angel [Studios], Harmon brothers, Jordan, Neil, Jeff, for being extra brilliant. For believing in us and having to overcome the fact that saving children should never be a controversy. It should be the quickest thing that any of us would ever do,” Caviezel said on Twitter.
“I’ve always said ‘Do you wanna be liked by many – the world, Hollywood – or do you want to be loved by one, which is God?’ Because love don’t come from man, it comes from above.” He continued.
“I’m sitting here thinking about all of you amazing Americans that are fighting a battle and helping us in this war against the greatest evil that has ever been because you know that God’s children are not for sale,” he added. “I want to thank you all for helping us reach two million tickets, and thanks for not letting the media silence us. Your voices were heard.”

SOUND OF FREEDOM has performed better than anyone expected, generating $14.2 million on its opening day and $40 million over its first week. The movie has made it known how prevalent child sex trafficking and exploitation is in America.
The goal of SOUND OF FREEDOM was to sell two million tickets to represent the two million children who are trafficked worldwide every year. To reach this goal, Angel Studios created a pay-it-forward system where people could purchase tickets for moviegoers who would otherwise not have the means to see the movie. Over $2.5 million of their opening day sales were done through this system.

On July 4, Angel Studios film, SOUND OF FREEDOM became the top Box Office movie in America on its release date July 4.
SOUND OF FREEDOM grossed a total of $14.3 million in ticket sales in its debut, a whopping $3 million more than INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY.
Co-owner of Angel Studios, Jordan Harmon, told The Daily Signal, “As exciting that it is to hit the number 1 spot for this summer opening, it doesn’t even come close to the excitement that the number means for awareness of this issue.”
The SOUND OF FREEDOM Movie Twitter account posted a goal of reaching 2 million people for the 2 million children that are trafficked each year. Just by looking at the numbers, Movieguide® would say they will far surpass the goal!
Due to Angel Studios internal data, Harmon knew this film would bring in “significantly more than anybody projected,” however, “this blew us away.”
