More Detail:
THEY CLONED TYRONE is a science fiction comedy on Netflix directed by Juel Taylor. The story revolves around three unexpected heroes, a drug dealer, a pimp and the pimp’s top prostitute, who stumble on a government conspiracy hidden in their black neighborhood. THEY CLONED TYRONE offers a fresh, imaginative take on the science fiction genre, incorporating humorous, innovative, captivating concepts throughout the story, but the movie has a padded plot that doesn’t always make sense, an abundant, unacceptable level of strong foul language, some lewd content, and a strong politically correct worldview promoting the false, hate-filled communist doctrine of systemic racism.
The movie begins with Fontaine, a resident of the Glen, a retro futuristic neighborhood, where he’s known as the local drug dealer. While collecting unpaid debts from his customer, a pimp known as Slick Charles, Fontaine finds himself in a dangerous situation. As he confronts Slick Charles in his motel room, a rival drug dealer lurks nearby, waiting for an opportunity.
Tragically, Fontaine is ambushed and murdered by the rival dealer outside the motel. However, to everyone’s astonishment, Fontaine wakes up the following morning as if the previous events never occurred. Confused and disoriented, he resumes his daily routine, seemingly stuck in an inexplicable time loop.
The next day, Slick Charles is utterly taken aback when Fontaine reappears to collect the money once more, seemingly alive, and completely oblivious to the previous night’s events. Perplexed and suspicious, Slick confronts Fontaine about what transpired, but Fontaine genuinely has no recollection of being murdered.
Intrigued by the mystery, Slick seeks out Yo-Yo, a street-smart prostitute who witnessed the fatal events of the previous night. Yo-Yo confirms the shocking truth, revealing that a rival drug dealer murdered Fontaine. The confirmation only deepens the mystery surrounding Fontaine’s inexplicable resurrection.
Driven by the urgency to unravel the truth, Yo-Yo takes Fontaine and Slick to the house where she suspects the perpetrators reside. As they explore the house, they stumble on a hidden elevator that descends into an underground lab. The sight before them is beyond their wildest imaginations, a clandestine laboratory with advanced technology and mysterious experiments. The trio embarks on a comical thrill ride to uncover who or what is behind the mysterious lab and what they want with Fontaine and the Glen.
THEY CLONED TYRONE offers an unflinching portrayal of the lives of troubled characters who find themselves deeply entangled in the gritty and illicit world of drug dealing and sex work. The movie uses off-color comedy to explore the harsh realities of their situations, touching upon sensitive topics related to prostitution, drugs and other adult themes. The movie doesn’t shy away from depicting the violence inherent in their world, showcasing intense interactions between characters that reflect the high stakes and dangerous nature of their lives.
However, the movie’s entertainment quality is spoiled by a strong politically correct worldview promoting the false, hate-filled communist doctrine of systemic racism. The filmmakers insert this woke ideology in an indirect manner that seems deceitful, but it becomes clear as the story develops. [SPOILERS FOLLOW] It turns out that a secret, national cabal of white people are targeting the inner cities throughout the United States by dosing the food supply and hair products and by inserting mind control memes into music and advertising. The goal is to assimilate black people into white America by diluting their blackness. Although white people are the enforcers in the cabal, the mastermind behind the “project” turns out to be a black scientist who believes the racial divide in America can only be solved by assimilation. However, his notion of assimilation comes with a major downside. It also destroys people’s individuality and their ability to protest and rebel.
THEY CLONED TYRONE includes Marxist attacks on systemic racism in America, plus attacks on capitalism. As such, it reduces white people to racist oppressors. In addition, the character of the black scientist seems to be an example of a black conservative who rejects the communist doctrine of systemic racism that the three main characters accept. Ironically, by turning their black characters into victims, the filmmakers actually reduce the humanity and strength of black people. Thus, the black victims in the story are never personally morally responsible for their evil lifestyles, sins or mistakes.
The communist notion of systemic racism has been thoroughly debunked by many scholars and many conservative pundits, including scholars like Thomas Sowell, Walter E. Williams, Heather
Macdonald, and Helen Pluckrose, and pundits like Larry Elder, Candace Owens, Christopher Rufo, and the Rev. Jesse Lee Paterson. Instead of using emotion and anecdotes, they rely on factual analysis and logic.
THEY CLONED TYRONE also has an abundant, unacceptable level of strong foul language, some lewd content (including crude references to prostitution), very strong violence, and strong drug references. The movie doesn’t offer any critique or rebuke against selling or abusing drugs.
