Mick Jagger, The Rolling Stones May Leave $500M Fortune to Charity

Rock music legend Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones shared that the band may leave their half-a-billion dollar fortune to charity rather than to their children.

In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, the singer commented, “The children don’t need $500 million to live well. Come on. You maybe do some good in the world.”

Jagger, 80, has eight children: Karis, 52, Jade, 51, Elizabeth, 39, James, 38, Georgia May, 31, Gabriel, 25, Lucas, 24, and Deveraux, age 6.

The “Satisfaction” singer also revealed that he and The Rolling Stones will release their newest album, “Hackney Diamonds,” on October 20.

“We wouldn’t have put out this album out if we didn’t really like it. We must say that we are quite pleased with it. We’re not big headed but we hope you like it,” Jagger said at a press event in London.

The album features artists such as Lady Gaga and Stevie Wonder on their “new gospel-inspired track called ‘Sweet Sounds of Heaven.’”

However, the band members are now missing their fourth member, Charlie Watts, who died in August 2021 at age 80.

Remaining members Jagger, Keith Richards, 79, and Ronnie Wood, 76, reflected on recording the new album without their longtime drummer.

“Ever since Charlie’s gone it’s different, he’s number four,” Keith Richards said. “He’s missing, he’s up there. Of course, he’s missed incredibly.’”

The new album, their first without Watts, was a spur-of-the-moment decision.

“We were a bit too lazy and then suddenly we said, ‘Let’s make a record and make a deadline,'” Jagger said.

“What I want to do is write some songs, go into the studio and finish the record by Valentine’s Day. Which was just a day I picked out of the hat—but everyone can remember it. And then we’ll go on tour with it, the way we used to,” he told Richards.

“In the end, the deadline pressure worked. The band recorded basic tracks in four weeks and just missed their Valentine’s Day target by a few weeks,” PEOPLE reported.
