Kathy Ireland Cautions About AI: ‘Can be Used for Good or Evil’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Former supermodel and business mogul Kathy Ireland recently shared what she thinks about artificial intelligence—a powerful tool that can be used as a weapon or a shield.
“It’s very interesting — definitely moving rapidly — and we’ve got to be alert to it,” Ireland told Fox News Digital.
She called attention to the power of AI, explaining that positive and negative things can come out of it.
“As with all technology there, it can be used for good or evil. So, we’ve got to be alert to it and be on it. And I just can’t stress enough the alertness and the protection that we all need,” Ireland continued. “Let’s seek to use it for good and protect ourselves against any negative impacts that it could have.”
Ireland highlights companies that use AI “for good” on her show, WORLDWIDE BUSINESS WITH KATHY IRELAND. She hosts company heads who use AI for thermal imaging, cybersecurity threats and other positive implementations.
Movieguide® recently reported actor Nicholas Cage’s perspective on AI: “AI is a nightmare to me,” Cage said. “It’s inhumane. You can’t get more inhumane than artificial intelligence…I would be very unhappy if people were taking my art…and appropriating [it].”
As a successful businesswoman and outspoken Christian, Ireland frequently shares her thoughts on many other things besides AI. Movieguide® previously reported on her pro-life advocacy:
“If we saw someone murdering a three-year-old on the street, we would intervene,” Ireland explained. “When you recognize that this is a human being that we’re talking about, you do whatever you can to stop it. Once you know the truth, it’s hard to un-know it.”
While attending Live Action’s Life Awards Gala, Ireland addressed women who had had abortions.
“To the women who’ve had abortions — the estimation is one-in-four — just know that nothing is too big for God,” she said. “We bring it to him; we repent. He redeems and restores.”
