Katy Nichole on Music Career: ‘This Is Where God Has Called Me’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Christian artist Katy Nichole is reflecting on God’s blessings and her music’s influence on fans over the years.
“I’m going to remember all of the blessings, the many, many blessings that were on my life,” she said in a bonus episode of “The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast.” “[And] truly just the impact of my music.”
Nichole explained that it can be “scary” to be so “vulnerable” with audiences through her music.
“The impact that the music has had on people has just blown me away and encouraged me in what I’m doing,” the singer said. “[It’s] really reminded me that this is where God has called me, and for that, I’m just immensely grateful.”
Nichole is currently on the road with Tauren Wells and Jordan Smith with the “THIS IS JESUS Christmas Worship Tour.”
“Singing together on stage is gonna be one of the most special things about this tour,” the artists wrote in a joint post. “Can’t wait to join our voices to sing songs about Christmas and songs about Christ!”
The singer reflected on the impact her music has had on her and her fans.
“I don’t think I could’ve ever imagined even in my wildest dreams that I would be where I am now,” she wrote on Instagram. “I have seen God move in miraculous ways and bless me over and over- most days I feel like such an unlikely choice to do what I do but that’s just how God works sometimes.”
Nichole continued, “I am so GRATEFUL to have the opportunity to spread the mighty name of Jesus with so many and I will continue to do my best to steward this platform well. I will fall short and I won’t always get things right but I will never stop trusting that Jesus will put me right back on track when I stumble. Thank you to everyone who has believed in me and championed me even when I didn’t believe in myself. And above all else, thank you Jesus, I am so grateful.”

When asked if she considers herself an overnight success, Nichole replied, “I don’t think anyone is. I worked really hard but God blessed me in miraculous ways.”
Nichole continued, “I love playing shows and meeting people who listen to the songs and hearing the stories of how the songs have impacted their lives and having a night of worship and gathering together in fellowship.”
The singer also spoke about what she wanted concert goers to get out of her performances. “We will gather together to sing and praise the Lord,” she shared. “I really hope I can encourage people that God is with them, He is for them and they are loved.”
