Why Tim Tebow Serves the Most Vulnerable People

Tim Tebow recently took to Instagram recently to share why he serves those who are struggling and vulnerable.
“For most of my life, I’ve chased trying to be the best I can be,” he wrote. “I have always loved competition and trying to help my teammates and coaches win championships, possibly even an MVP. Tuesday night was an incredible honor, and so humbling, yet another reminder of what I believe God has called me to in life.”
Tebow was inducted into the 2023 College Football Hall of Fame last week, something he called an “incredible honor.”
Despite the athletic success he’s found, though, the former NFL star stays focused on who God has called him to serve.
“Working to be the best athlete and the best at what we do is important, but I don’t believe it should be more important than striving for the true MVP,” he continued. “God has continuously put on my heart and had to remind me, be the best you can be, but in doing so, don’t look away from the Most Vulnerable People.”
“I’m so grateful for the opportunities God has given me, for the doors He has opened to serve and love the MVPs through the @timtebowfoundation, and I pray I never forget what I believe He has called me to and that Jesus and hurting people always remain #1,” he added.
“Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey of caring for, loving, and fighting for the world’s Most Vulnerable People. There are so many we haven’t gotten to, let’s keep going,” he urged.
Tebow’s desire to serve the MVPs began when he met a boy in the Philippines who was born with his feet on backward and was viewed as an outcast by his village.
“I knew that day that that boy wasn’t a throwaway, and I knew God was pricking my heart saying, ‘He’s not a throwaway to Him, but Timmy what is he going to be to you?’” he recalled.
Since then, the football player has used his platform for God.
His foundation seeks to serve vulnerable people around the world.
“The Tim Tebow Foundation exists to bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need. We strive to fight for the Most Vulnerable People in the world—the MVP—through our work in our four main focuses in Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation, Orphan Care + Prevention, Profound Medical Needs, and Special Needs Ministry,” its website shares.

In a recent Instagram video, Tebow shared, “A few years ago, we deepened our fight in this terrible evil in the world of human trafficking and child exploitation. And in the last 365 days, we’re so excited to share with you that we have grown so much and been part of rescuing thousands and building safe homes in so many different countries.”
Movieguide® previously reported on the work Tebow’s foundation does to fight trafficking. “We’re in 67 countries and we’re building more hospitals right now and we’re building more special needs orphanages and villages and rescuing girls from trafficking. And, I just am so passionate about that.”
