By Movieguide® Contributor
Super Bowl LVIII is this Sunday. Here are 10 Christian NFL stars playing in the big game.
1. Patrick Mahomes: Quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Super Bowl LVIII marks Mahomes’ third Super Bowl appearance. “I know that I’m on the football field to glorify Him before everything,” Mahomes said. “So it’s not about winning or losing, it’s about going out there and being the best that I can in his name.”
2. Christian McCaffrey: Running back for the San Francisco 49ers.
This will be McCaffrey’s first Super Bowl appearance. “My faith means everything to me. I think my faith has gotten me where I am in life,” he said.
3. L’Jarius Sneed: Cornerback for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Sneed is making his third Super Bowl appearance with one win under his belt. “God, I thank You,” he posted before the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens.

4. Brock Purdy: Quarterback for the San Franscico 49ers.
Purdy will make his Super Bowl debut and has relied on Psalm 23 to get him through this season. “I already have what I need from the Good Shepherd in Jesus,” he said.
5. Marquez Valdes-Scantling: Wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Valdes-Scantling is making his second Super Bowl appearance. He secured a Super Bowl win in his first appearance and looks to do it again. He told Sports Spectrum, “Jesus Christ is King,” when asked about his faith.
6. Tashaun Gipson: Safety for the San Francisco 49ers.
Gipson will make his debut Super Bowl. He also declared that his journey to the Super Bowl “is just God. Honestly, it’s just God. Without Him, this wouldn’t be possible. It’s a surreal feeling; my body is numb right now…I’m so thankful.”
“I’m so happy, my heart’s full.” ❤️

7. James Winchester: Long-snapper for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Winchester will make his fourth Super Bowl appearance. He told Sports Spectrum, “I feel very blessed to be here again.”
8. Drue Tranquill: Offensive linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Tranquill will make his first Super Bowl appearance. As he entered the stadium for the first time, Tranquill told Sports Spectrum of his journey, “I just really had a dream of being a professional athlete and playing at the highest level and impacting people for the Kingdom…It’s overwhelming, God’s faithfulness.”
9. Harrison Butker: Place Kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs.
With his fourth Super Bowl appearance, Butker leans on his faith in God for another game. “[God] is the most important thing. If I didn’t have faith in God, I don’t think I’d be the father I am, the husband I am, the kicker I am. That kind of sets the tone for everything else and everything falls under that, but that gives me the strength to go do everything I need to do,” he said.
10. Nick Bolton: Lineback for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Bolton will make his sixth Super Bowl appearance and is the veteran of the group. Ahead of last year’s Super Bowl appearance, Bolton told Sports Spectrum, “I don’t think many things in life would happen without God. We don’t get to choose our families, we don’t get to choose our support systems. I grew up with both of my parents, and a lot of people don’t have that opportunity.”
