What You Need To Know:

TURBO: A POWER RANGERS MOVIE is a low concept film with very little story. The concept is stated up front. Evil Divatox is trying to capture the great wizard Lerigot so he can get her into the forbidden triangle where she can mate with a powerful volcano monster and then rule the universe. We find our Power Ranger friends practicing for a martial arts tournament so they can keep an orphanage open. One of them gets hurt, and a young boy, named Justin, takes his place. They encounter Divatox, and the rest of the movie is some of the most boring fight sequences ever filmed as the Power Rangers try to stop Divatox.

If this film were trying to be camp, it failed for lack of humor. If it were trying to reach children, it failed because of sexual innuendo and low cut necklines, not to mention disgusting looking creatures and a plot that involved an occult sexual union. The weakness in story and realization is discouraging because the actors did their best. Once the audience takes a look at this movie, the word of mouth will certainly be negative. There is a great deal of New Age teaching in this movie.

TURBO: A POWER RANGERS MOVIE, a second movie featuring the colorful fighters, is a low concept film with very little story. The concept or plot is stated up front. The evil witch Divatox is trying to capture the great wizard Lerigot [[[{{{This is the correct name}}}]]] so he can get her into the forbidden triangle where she can mate with a powerful volcano monster, and then rule the universe.

The plot is told to us in a cheap STAR WARS-type space scrawl at the beginning of the movie. Of course, we know that the Power Rangers will save the world from this evil union. After the cheap scroll, the rest of the movie is a dull, confused, meandering telling of this plot.

In the beginning, we find our Power Ranger friends practicing for a martial arts tournament so they can win the purse and keep a shelter for orphans open. One of the Power Rangers gets hurt, and a young boy named Justin (Blake Foster) takes his place. The Rangers find out that the great wizard Lerigot is in Africa. They put on their cheap plastic knapsacks and encounter Divatox. The rest of the movie is some of the most boring fight sequences ever filmed as the Power Rangers try to stop Divatox.

My children contend that there is no longer an audience for the Power Rangers. We shall see, but once the audience takes a look at this movie, the word of mouth will certainly be negative. By the way, there is a great deal of New Age teaching in this movie.
