CBS Network is on track to be the most-watched network for the 16 straight TV season.
“According to Live + 7 data measured by Nielsen through April 21, CBS is averaging 5.59 million viewers, putting it 580,000 ahead of its closest competitor, which is NBC with an average 5.01 million viewers. ABC and Fox trail behind at 4.29 million and 3.35 million viewers, respectively,” Variety reported.
CBS’ TRACKER began in February and has quickly become the network’s most-watched series.
Deadline reported, “According to Paramount, since the new season premiered in February, CBS is up 11% versus last year in primetime multi-platform 35-day viewing. That’s only taking into account the viewing that occurred last year in that same time frame. In the 35-day window, TRACKER also stands above the rest with a whopping 20.4M viewers per episode. YOUNG SHELDON and NCIS are each averaging 12.9M viewers, while GHOSTS is managing 11.9M.”
CBS has also announced its new slate of primetime shows for the 2024-2025 TV season, including NCIS: ORIGINS, MATLOCK, WATSON, POPPA’S HOUSE, GEORGIE & MANDY’S FIRST MARRIAGE, THE SUMMIT, HOLLYWOOD SQUARES and more.
“This is another CBS primetime schedule that will break through the clutter and entertain a mass audience,” said Amy Reisenbach, President of CBS Entertainment. “We’re grateful to the creative talent who deliver the characters and stories, as well as the viewers who spend nights, seasons and years with them.”
The network also has big plans for sports. CBS Sports will feature the NFL, NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, the Masters Tournament in April, PGA Championship in May and the UEFA Champions League Final in June.
“A full season of Big Ten Football comes to CBS this fall at 3:30 PM, ET on Saturdays. CBS will broadcast the Big Ten Football Championship for the first time in December and will also air the NWSL Championship game in primetime in November,” the press release announced.
Movieguide® recently reported on CBS’ upcoming MATLOCK reboot:
FanSided is giving all the updates on the new gender-flipped CBS MATLOCK reboot.
“The series follows Madeline Matlock, who is ready to rejoin the work force. Of course, due to her age, a lot of people don’t think that she’ll be able to keep up, especially in a prestigious law firm. However, she uses those thoughts to her advantage. She’s not one to beat around the bush, and she will use her age as a way to expose corruption when people least expect it,” FanSided reported May 1.
THE BLIND SIDE actress Kathy Bates will play Madeline, AKA Matty. Skye P. Marshall, Jason Ritter and Beau Bridges will appear in roles within the law firm. Leah Lewis and David Del Rio are expected to appear, too.
Deadline added, “Bridges plays Senior, the firm’s managing partner who has an indomitable presence that immediately alters the temperature of any room. The man’s influence reaches far and wide, and although he loves his son, Julian (Ritter), he might respect his daughter-in-law, Olympia (Marshall), more.”
