More Detail:

In “Number Two,” a teenage Kate prepares to apply to Berkley, but doesn’t mention her aspirations to Rebecca for fear of disappointing her if Berkley doesn’t accept the application. Rebecca discovers the application while in Kate’s room. This prompts Rebecca to assure Kate that, regardless of life’s circumstances, she will always love and support her children. Grown-up Kate experiences a miscarriage and takes out her emotions on Toby. She blames him for getting her excited about the baby while she minimizes his pain. Toby acknowledges that while the miscarriage didn’t physically happen to him, he feels the sense of loss acutely. Rebecca comes to comfort Kate, and they connect emotionally. Rebecca encourages Kate to reach out to Toby. Will they reconcile?

“Number Two” addresses how people’s reactions to grief and loss can vary and how loved ones can be supportive and show unconditional love during hard times. The episode encourages open communication and provides a strong example of how families can rally around hurting members to bring comfort. “Number Two” addresses difficult subjects like grief, loss and miscarriage. So, caution is advised.
