More Detail:

“Sources and Methods” may be the most exciting, compelling JACK RYAN episode yet. Ryan and Greer fly to Turkey after finding out Hanin, Suleiman’s wife, is trying to smuggle into Europe to escape her evil husband, but she’s purchased passage from dangerous sex traffickers. To find Hanin, they partner with a Turkish pimp, who agrees to be their guide, for a high price. Ryan despises paying local sex traffickers and has problems working with Greer’s methods. Can they reach Hanin before she’s either killed by her husband’s men or disappears?

“Sources and Methods” puts Ryan’s moral code to the test. Near the end, Greer tells Ryan there’s no version of their job where there’s no moral compromise. Ryan says he refuses to believe that. Greer responds that he once believed the same thing. Can Jack Ryan be successful in the CIA without giving up some moral beliefs? At a time when TV characters often show no moral conviction, it’s refreshing to see a character at least grapple with them. This JACK RYAN episode is still edgy, however, with “f” words, brief nudity and some strong violence. So, MOVIEGUIDE® advises extreme caution.
