Health Scare Points Country Star’s Wife to God ‘For the First Time’

Bunnie Xo, the wife of country star Jelly Roll, is reevaluating her relationship with God after a recent health scare.
Last week, she took to Facebook to share some news with her followers.
“In March, I started getting really bad headaches, really weird headaches that I’ve never gotten before, so I scheduled to have an MRI/MRA done this week with my doctor, and I went in and got it done,” she said.
The scans revealed that Bunnie may have an aneurysm in her carotid artery. She explained that this diagnosis is especially scary for her because her mother had one as well.
Hopkins Medicine explains that an aneurysm is “a bulging, weakened area in the wall of a blood vessel resulting in an abnormal widening or ballooning greater than 50% of the vessel’s normal diameter (width).”
“The larger an aneurysm becomes, the greater the risk for rupture (bursting). With rupture, life-threatening hemorrhage (uncontrolled bleeding), and possibly death, may result,” the outlet adds.
Bunnie later met with a neurosurgeon who believed that the two-millimeter aneurysm on the scans may just be an MRI artifact. However, she is getting a second opinion to be sure.
Several days after sharing the initial news, Bunnie reflected on how the health scare changed her thoughts about God and her family.
“I tell you what, this health scare put so much in perspective for me,” she began. “It honestly made me want to change a lot of things in my life. Be more appreciative of my family & friends. It also made me reevaluate my relationship w/ God & learn to have faith for the first time in my life. Even my husband texting me last night saying ‘You’re my bestfriend.’ Brought me to tears.
“You don’t realize how much you appreciate life & the ppl in it until you feel like you could lose it & them at any moment,” she added.
Bunnie plans to keep her followers updated as her health journey continues.
Movieguide® previously reported on Jelly Roll’s faith:
Country singer Jelly Roll recently compared the birth of his daughter to the conversion of Paul on the road to Damascus.
“I was incarcerated as a juvenile for some horrible decisions and I ended up in kind of that rotating door of the system for like a decade,” he shared during an episode of JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE. “I had a daughter, and it changed my entire life, man. It was almost like the Damascus Road experience where Saul turned to Paul for me.”
He continued, “I was incarcerated, and they knocked on my door and told me she was born. And I just wept. It’s the first time I’d cried, and I can’t quit crying now. Now I cry if I just see a squirrel in the street. I’m like, ‘The little squirrel!’ Spent 30 years not crying, and now I can’t stop.”
Jelly Roll has spoken about his time in prison, saying it was there that he started writing music.
