Jim Henson Company Announces New Children’s Show
By Movieguide® Contributor
From the creators of FRAGGLE ROCK and THE MUPPETS comes a new children’s series called PAUL THE BEAR.
The live-action show will follow “Paul T. Bear is newly retired, having spent most of his life out at sea working as a long-haul fisherman, sharing his space with bears at all hours of the day and night. He’s excited to finally be on his own — painting still lives of his favorite household items, attending plays, and volunteering at the library. But not all things come easy in new places and Paul will have to expend some effort to find a well-balanced life.”
Animator Julia Pott and former Disney Star Raviv Ullman will showrun.
Pott posted her excitement about the new show to Instagram. In a caption, she said, “Paul the Bear and @ravivullman are two of my greatest loves and I am honoured to be a part of their next chapter alongside the Jim Henson Company! Cannot wait to romp around the UK with all my gorgeous boys ❤️”
The Jim Henson Company is behind several family-friendly programs and movies, including THE MUPPETS. However, some of Henson’s programming is not appropriate for children. Movieguide® encourages the showrunners to consider how movies and television shows with more uplifting values outperform those with excessive content.
