After North Dakota State won the NCAA Division I college football championship, linebacker Logan Kopp declared that his life was the Lord’s and He was the reason for his success.

“I must say that the reason I’m sitting in this chair right now is because of the God that I serve and His grace and His son Jesus who died for me, saved a wretched sinner like me,” Kopp said during a postgame interview. “I’m nothing without Jesus, and He saved me not because of what I did, but what He did 2000 years ago on a Roman cross. And that’s why I’m standing up here, and that’s a greater joy in my life than any accolade that I will ever get.”

Kopp, a junior, had a great season, posting three sacks, three interceptions and a forced fumble on the year. His efforts helped bring his team to the national championship, where they prevailed over Montana State 35-32.

The linebacker declares his faith in his Instagram bio, pointing others towards what Christians eagerly await by referencing Philippians 3:20-12“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.”

Kopp isn’t the only player in college football who has been bold about their faith this year. The entire program at Ohio State seemed on fire for the Lord, with multiple players declaring their faith throughout the season. Their brotherhood in Christ has even brought players from opposite teams together as Auburn and Arkansas players prayed together on the field after a game against each other in September.

It is amazing to see these players use their platform for good and inspire younger players who look up to them to set their eyes on the Lord.
