They Met on WCTH, and This Husband-Wife Duo Still Loves Working Together

Actors Kevin McGarry and Kayla Wallace met on WHEN CALLS THE HEART, and after falling in love, they married in September 2024.
“I owe a lot to WHEN CALLS THE HEART for not only helping my career and giving me a job and meeting all my friends, but meeting Kayla, meeting my wife, it’s been the most special part of being on that show,” McGarry told Swooon.
Wallace left WHEN CALLS THE HEART in Season 10 and joined Taylor Sheridan’s LANDMAN.
“I knew that she had that side in her. I saw the side she’s doing, but she’s absolutely killing it. She’s fantastic,” McGarry said of his wife’s work on the new show. “Everyone on that show is fantastic. I’m very proud of her. She deserves all of this, and I’m also enjoying watching LANDMAN, too.”

Wallace does sporadically return to WHEN CALLS THE HEART, including in Seasons 12.
“We love working together. I think it’s just more right now, Kayla’s kind of got her own trajectory, going in a different direction, and I think she wants to focus on that,” McGarry said. “I’d never say never. But, like I said, she’s a busy lady right now, and she’s got prior commitments.”
Her role on LANDMAN is quite different from her “phone operator-turned-barbershop owner” WCTH character, Fiona Miller.
In LANDMAN, Wallace plays Rebecca Falcone, “a lawyer determined to investigate the circumstances of the accident on the platform. Her firm stance and professional ethics put her at odds with powerful figures, highlighting her strength in an adverse environment.”
She’s grateful for her husband’s support. “My world. @kevin_mcgarry_w thank you for being so supportive through it all, and for being by my side on one of the most surreal nights yet,” Wallace wrote alongside a photo from the LANDMAN premiere.
