DUCK DYNASTY’s Kay Robertson Doing ‘Pretty Well’ After Fall Left Her Hospitalized
By Movieguide® Contributor
Robertson family matriarch Kay Robertson is on the mend after a fall left her with a gash in her leg that required a trip to the hospital.
“Kay had another fall, which, she falls a lot. And it was a substantial injury” Jase Robertson told Taste of Country, adding that his mom is doing “pretty well” despite the significant injury it caused. A previous fall left her with a broken foot, and she and her husband now have 24/7 support as their health deteriorates.
“Their people that are around them 24/7 — ‘cause obviously we can’t be around them at all times — sent me a very graphic picture where she cut her leg. It was a horror show; it was severe,” Jase continued. “I was fixing to get up onstage and I see this picture of my mom, I was like, ‘oh man.’ I was like, ‘get her to the hospital. I gotta speak.’”
Unfortunately, as Kay struggles with her physical health, family patriarch Phil Robertson is facing a mental decline as he battles Alzheimer’s disease. The family revealed that his condition is rapidly deteriorating, something that saddens them.

“It’s hard to watch. It’s really weird to… be in the presence of somebody last year that could just recite scripture and…now [he’s] someone who’s very quiet,” said Lisa Robertson.
“His legacy will live on, and on, and on in his children, and his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren,” she added. “That’s what he trained us to do. So, that’s what we will continue to do.”
At the same time, the family is prepping for a DUCK DYNASTY reboot that will capture all that has changed since the original show ended in 2017. They have already signed a deal with A&E to produce two ten episode seasons bringing the family back into the spotlight.
“Now that the reboot, or the revival I think they’re calling it, has happened, now it’s all about, you know, those teenagers that you loved on the show who are now married and have kids, and you know, how they’ve sort of now taken over the business and the different aspects that are there,” Al Robertson told CBN News.
