THE CHOSEN Season 5 Is ‘Taking Us For a Ride’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Movieguide®’s Jeremy Carroll sat down with Abe Bueno-Jallad (Big James) and Shahar Isaac (Simon Peter) from THE CHOSEN to get their thoughts on what we can expect in season 5.
An official synopsis for season 5 reads:
The table is set. The people of Israel welcome Jesus as king while his disciples anticipate his crowning. But—instead of confronting Rome—he turns the tables on the Jewish religious festival. Their power threatened, the country’s religious and political leaders will go to any length to ensure this Passover meal is Jesus’ last.
“We’re scaling up in some ways,” Abe said. “As you can see all around us there’s like new worlds being constructed and so, it’s really nice to just show up and it’s kind of like Christmas.
“Without a doubt season five is taking us for a ride,” he added.
Shahar also added, “You know, it’s like the way the nature of the beast of filming. You do it in sections. So, we started now. Now you’re catching is in the days that we’re doing interior stuff, so, we’re on this huge set. There’s two gigantic sets and we’re inside, really a reality.
“The set design of this show is something that just gets to levels that you know I don’t think can be compared to. It’s incredible,” Shahar said. “So, we are living in these realities. Everything from the last little detail is painted and ready and beautiful for us.”
