Why This GREY’S ANATOMY Star Says Her Daughter ‘Isn’t Ready’ to Watch Her Show

GREY’S ANATOMY star Ellen Pompeo doesn’t want her daughter to watch her sexual scenes on the show.
“My 15-year-old has seen it. And now my 10-year-old wants to see it, which, she’s not ready, but a lot of kids in her class have seen it,” Pompeo told Jimmy Kimmel last week.
“I don’t want my daughter to see me in my underwear on television just yet, but all her classmates have,” she said. “That makes for great conversation at pick up.”
Pompeo clearly knows that the scenes she performed in are too much. Despite that, the mom of three hasn’t clearly stated whether she regrets performing in scenes that aren’t family-friendly.
Though she left her role as Meredith Grey on the show in 2022, she still narrates episodes and serves as an executive producer.
In 2021, she revealed that her husband, Chris Ivery, had a hard time with her physical scenes.
“Poor guy had no idea what he was getting into,” she said.
“I remember in the beginning it was really hard for him,” Pompeo continued. “He was like, ‘This is not what I signed up for. You go to work and make out with that. I like Patrick and everything, he’s a good dude, but like really?'”
“It was a lot for him at first. He was really a trooper, I have to say,” she added.
In 2019, Ivery said he doesn’t exactly feel jealous, but he has a lot of awkwardness when he sees his wife with another guy on screen.
“She’s acting but now she’s got this new lover, which I know him, Giacomo [Gianniotti]…And to be honest, I haven’t watched those scenes because I feel like it can be awkward,” he said.
Though Pompeo feels awkward about her kids seeing her in steamy scenes and knows how her husband feels about it, it seems like that didn’t stop her from continuing to make them. But, maybe she will consider those things in her future Hollywood projects. The actress and her family would likely feel a lot more relaxed about her roles if so.
