This Network’s Lent Season Lineup Will Prepare You for Easter

The Lenten season is upon us, and Great American Media has some special things in store to prepare viewers for Easter.
“Easter is a time of renewal, hope, and reflection, reminding us of the profound impact of faith in our everyday lives. By embracing the traditions of faith — whether through prayer, acts of kindness, or personal reflection — we connect with the deeper meaning of the season,” said GAM CEO Bill Abbott.
On Good Friday, April 18, the network will broadcast Shepherd Church Los Angeles’ “The Passion Play” live.
The following day, April 19, GAF will present FORTY-SEVEN DAYS WITH JESUS, which stars THE CHOSEN’s Yoshi Barrigas and Catherine Lidstone. It follows “a disconnected family finds hope and unity through a cinematic retelling of Jesus’ final 47 days on Earth.”

FORTY-SEVEN DAYS WITH JESUS is a faith-based family drama. Joseph is a married father of two who’s making a movie about firefighters to honor his father, a retired firefighter. However, Joseph’s wife, Juliana, is upset he’s spending so much time working while neglecting her and the kids. Things between them come to a head when the family takes an Easter vacation to visit Joseph’s parents. Meanwhile, Joseph’s father starts telling the children, including Joseph’s sister’s daughter, about the last 47 days of Jesus, including His betrayal, death and resurrection. The movie re-enacts some scenes from that time, with music.
The first half of FORTY-SEVEN DAYS WITH JESUS is a little slow. However, the second half nicely builds into a moving, inspiring ending that promotes repentance, forgiveness and living out one’s Christian faith. Eventually, Joseph realizes he needs to live out his Christian faith by not neglecting his wife and children. A scene between Jesus and Peter provides a beautiful counterpoint to that message. FORTY-SEVEN DAYS WITH JESUS has three songs that stand out above the rest. Two of them seem Oscar-worthy to MOVIEGUIDE®.

Throughout the Lent season — the 40 days leading up to Easter — Great American Pure Flix will present several other movies that remind viewers of the life-changing power of the gospel.
This includes THE BLIND, starring Aron Von Andrian, which tells the true story of DUCK DYNASTY patriarch Phil Robertson, TWO THIEVES, starring Jonathan Roumie, CANDACE CAMERON BURE PRESENTS: JUST IN TIME, THE MUSEUM OF THE BIBLE PRESENTS: THE HISTORY OF EASTER and APOSTLE PETER.

The lineup will also feature the premiere of FAITH OF ANGELS, which stars John Michael Finley, Cameron Arnett, Kirby Heyborne and Charlotte Hemmings.
“FAITH OF ANGELS follows the miraculous rescue of ten-year-old Joshua Dennis, who becomes lost in the dark, twisting tunnels of an abandoned Utah mine,” a synopsis reads. “As the search intensifies, John Skinner — a man with deep knowledge of the mine — feels a divine calling to help. Despite initial resistance, his faith leads him on a perilous journey to save Joshua, guided by mysterious promptings in a race against time.”
