THE CHOSEN cast are sharing how their deep bonds and hearts for collaboration give the show a “family feel” that viewers can’t resist.

“This kind of lends to what is a huge success of the show is — that family feel that we felt when we were like all kind of in the water or one of us was in the water but we were doing this miracle of the fish,” George H. Xanthis, who plays John, told Movieguide® this week. “That feel that we had…even though the infrastructure around us has kind of been upgraded, inside you wouldn’t tell the difference.”

Xanthis feels as though they are still on “a little mom and pop” kind of show, like how THE CHOSEN started out.

“It’s kind of crazy because we have been doing this for years now, and so at a certain point, you show up and you go, it’s a part of us,” said Noah James, who plays Andrew. “It really is.”

“These characters are a part of us,” James continued, “and so some of the times you just show up and you’re kind of ready to go because we’ve been preparing for this next scene our whole time on the show, and it feels very alive and organically sort of growing into this fifth season where a lot is going on and a lot is going wrong, but we are in it together.”

Shahar Isaac, who plays Peter, explained, “Not a lot has changed in the way do we work at the end of the day, you know. We honor the written word, and we try to do as much as we can to create these interesting dramatic moments in each scene and go very deep, so the truth is that we’re still kind of the same. We’re still the same people.”

Isaac shared that everyone across the cast and crew is very open-minded and collaborative. There aren’t many strong-minded or forceful characters present, and their willingness to work together is the show’s glue.

“Regardless of the background…honestly, it doesn’t really matter as long as we get to the day and we’re ready to explore together and we’re actually focused on seeing what the other person is doing,” the actor explained. “That can change us and we’re changing each other and together create something… The vast majority of this group is kind of like that is the theme. That’s what we’re aiming for and so…it’s really a joy.”

Catherine Lidstone, who played a young woman named Mary, affirmed that despite calling cast and crew “family” is considered “cliché,” there’s no better way to describe THE CHOSEN cast’s connection.

“There did seem to be a special quality to the way in which everyone bonded with each other on The Chosen,” she told Casting Networks. “It had that unique, inexplicable, and admirable ‘je ne sais quoi,’ even in the midst of the Texas heat!” she laughed.

James previously shared similar sentiments with NewsNation last year: “It really is a big family.”
