Priscilla Shirer knows the importance of keeping a clear conscience and allowing God to speak.

“You know that the more that you ignore that still small conviction, the quieter that voice will become? Not because He is no longer speaking, but because you built a callus of disobedience. You have muffled the voice of the Holy Spirit,” she said in a video posted by TBN.

Any time we willingly sin and disobey God, we become numb to the Holy Spirit’s convictions, making us more likely to sin again next time.

Shirer continued, “It is better to be so sensitive to God’s Holy Spirit that sometimes you give when maybe He hasn’t even prompted you to give. But it’s okay, because to the best of your capacity, you are obeying the Holy Spirit of God. Just to keep those airways open and clear from that disobedience that will begin to muffle His voice in your life.”

The OVERCOMER actress explained that it is the devil’s goal to keep us “disconnected from the privilege of hearing the voice of God.”

Throughout the Bible, God tells us that He will speak to us. Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

Shirer continued, “This is what separates our faith from every other so-called faith on the face of the earth — it’s that our God is alive. It’s that He speaks. It’s that we have the privilege to hear His voice. Never downplay or minimize the value, the beauty, the lavish grace of this privilege that we have to hear the voice of God.”

Shirer frequently encourages others in their relationship with God.

The WAR ROOM actress previously spoke on exactly how to know if a voice is from God or not.

“There’s the conviction, you know, the conviction of the Holy Spirit, that green light of ease and peace that says go,” Shirer shared in a Women of Faith TBN video. “That yellow light of warning and uneasiness that says hold up a minute ’til you get clarity. And then that red light that is a straight-up no; there’s no peace, there’s confusion, there’s dissension. That’s the Holy Spirit’s way of telling you, ‘No; don’t go there; there’s a better yes for you if you’ll just wait and be patient.'”

When we hear God’s voice, we should feel peace. Philippians 4:7 says, “The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” God is a God of peace, and He wants to lead us and speak to us; all we need to do is listen.
