DUCK DYNASTY’s Phil Robertson has had a tough time with Alzheimer’s, but his spirits may be lifted now that he’s reunited with his wife, Miss Kay, in a care facility.
“We now have Phil and Kay back together. It has been fantastic,” Jase Robertson, Phil’s son, said in the April 11 episode of the “Unashamed with the Robertson Family” podcast.
Miss Kay had recently been hospitalized for an infection she received after a bad fall.
“They’re in a facility where there are other people, but they have their own little private room. It’s great. And so, they’re helping each other, so that’s been positive,” Jase said.
The couple has a large family that loves them dearly, which means they have lots of visitors.
Jase said “the challenge has been, we have so many people coming up there, we’re being disruptive. We’ll have to address that later.”
Though Jase shared earlier this month that Phil is not doing very well, he’s still got plenty of humor.
Jill Dasher, wife of the Robertson’s cousin Zach Dasher, shared that Phil realized that Miss Kay hadn’t had the chance to have her hair dyed, which she usually colors all black.
“What’s Kay got going on [with] that half-devil hair?” Jill recalled him saying.
Jase said the family is doing their best to make Phil comfortable.

Jase shared, “My dad’s not doing great overall, and my mom is not doing great physically. She has to have pretty much 24/7 professional healthcare, but my dad, it’s like, you’re helping her morale. She’s helping his morale.”
He added that Phil’s been “calmer” now that his wife is around.
In the last “Unashamed” episode, he shared that Phil hasn’t been able to keep an appetite. Jase said he frequently cooks food Phil likes, like crawfish and hamburgers, to try to get him to eat more. He was previously pretty concerned about Miss Kay’s health, too.
“For my mom, it’s been a lot better this past week, because she was really not doing good,” Jase said. “She got an infection from a fall, from a cut that had happened earlier…She’s still in the hospital, but [now it’s] more rehab, physically, and trying to get her to eat.”
A critical part of Phil’s life has been sharing the gospel and how God redeemed him with others. His story is told in THE BLIND movie, which shares how he mistreated his wife and abused alcohol. But at the lowest point in his life, God saved him from devastation.
Movieguide®’s review of THE BLIND reads, “In some ways THE BLIND is a very good movie as a testimony However, THE BLIND is definitely a rough movie, and MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution, especially for children and young teenagers.”
As Phil’s battle with Alzheimer’s continues, please continue to pray for the Robertson family.
