A special appearance at a Forrest Frank concert left Thomas Rhett with a broken ankle.
“Every now and then you just have to sing at a Forrest Frank concert and break your ankle in the process,” the country singer said in an Instagram video, adding, “I gave my all for Tennessee tonight.”
During the concert, Frank introduced his special guest for a performance of “Nothing Else.” Rhett got up from his seat and began walking towards the stage but fell down a short flight of stairs.
Rhett made it to the stage and got through the performance but admitted he was in “pain” throughout the song.
“ABSOLUTE CHAMPION,” Frank commented on Rhett’s Instagram post.
“Nothing Else” was released earlier this year and is the second time Frank and Rhett have collaborated, after 2021’s “C’est La Vie.”
It’s no surprise Rhett chose to team up with Frank; the young artist is one of the biggest names in Christian music. Last year, he won New Artist of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards, and in 2023, Billboard named him the New Christian Artist of the year.

“This is just all for Him and everything I do is for the Lord,” Frank said while accepting an award. “For whatever reason, He has chosen to give me some songs that have related to some people. And if he shuts it off and doesn’t give me any more songs, then that is cool. And if he continues to bless it, that’s great.”
Frank continued, “I want to continue to give Jesus glory because my name will fade away just like all of ours one day. But at the end of time, and for all of eternity, one Name will remain. And that is the name of Jesus Christ.”
Rhett has also spoken publicly about his faith, telling Esquire in a 2022 interview, “Everybody has got their non-negotiables in life. For me, my faith has gotten me through some pretty strange times. I feel like I have seen miracles happen. And I bet a lot of people have, and I bet a lot of people say that how you see those moments stems from whatever you believe in.”
“Everyone is entitled to whatever they want to believe, but for me, it’s been so prevalent in my life that that’s one thing I am not afraid to talk about,” he continued.
Rhett shared that a moment he leaned on his faith for was the adoption of his and wife Lauren’s daughter Willa.
“Lauren was in Uganda for seven-plus months, and I was there for three months and traveling back and forth to do shows in America. And it just felt like this was never going to happen. I gave up so many times. Not on Willa,” he explained.
Rhett continued, “Lauren got pregnant during that adoption, and it all came down to this one final court date in Uganda. We thought the judge was going to say that Lauren needed to be there for another year and a half. And he looked at her and she said that she saw a shift happen in the room. I wasn’t there so I can’t describe it, but he was just like, ‘Alright. You are all good.’ All it took was continuing to hold onto that little bit of faith.”
Rhett and Frank’s performance delighted fans. Hopefully next time they team up, Rhett doesn’t end up with any more injuries!
