Sheinelle Jones has been noticeably absent from the TODAY show for the last few months, and while the reason has not been made public, her co-hosts Craig Melvin, Al Roker and Dylan Dreyer are keeping her in their prayers.
“Just talked to [Jones] a couple of days ago,” Melvin said in an interview with Access Hollywood. “She’s taking some time to be with her family, and we talk to her all the time. We love our girl. It’s been nice to see how much everyone loves her, too.”
“We’re just praying for her,” Roker added.
Dreyer echoed, “She wishes she was here with us, but she’s doing what she needs to do and she’ll be back.”
Four months ago, Jones shared on her Instagram, “…I sincerely appreciate all of you who have reached out while I’ve been absent from the show. I want to share with you that I’m taking time to deal with a family health matter.”
“It’s not lost on me how lucky l am to have not only the support of my TODAY Show family, but to also have all of you. Your kindness means so much to me,” the co-host continued. “I’ll see you soon.”
Several of Jones’ co-hosts and followers commented their support.
Former TODAY show host Hoda Kotb wrote, “We love you ….. you are being held….. you are family xoxo.”
“We love you so. Not the same without you,” Savannah Guthrie said. “We will see you soon.”

Author Maria Shriver commented, “You are where you are supposed to be. We are with you.”
Aside from her job on the TODAY show, Jones loves to spend time with her family.
In December, she and her oldest son, Kayin, met former president Joe Biden.
“This moment with my oldest son Kayin and @potus and @drbiden transcended politics,” Jones wrote in a post on Instagram. “I got emotional as the president kindly complimented his attire and then said these words to him with the most sincere eyes – ‘Son, I want to tell you the most important thing. Remember I told you this: always, take care of your mother.’ Kayin replied ‘I will. Yes sir.'”
“It felt like Biden stopped the clock for a second…so we could take it in,” she added. “I got a little teary when we left that beautifully decorated room. It was a night we’ll always hold dear.”
There is no estimated timetable as to when Jones will make her way back to the show, but her co-workers are hopeful she will make her return soon. Please pray for Jones and her family during this time.
