WNBA Chicago Sky star Angel Reese feels “so blessed” as she purchases her first home at 22 years old and finishes paying off her mother’s mortgage.
A Reese fan account shared the news on X accompanied by a photo from the basketball star that included two green check marks next to “retired my momma” and “became a homeowner all at 22.”
“So blessed,” the basketball star added.

In the bottom right of the photo, Reese wrote, “Knocked off 2 BIG things off my vision board in the first 4 months of the new year!”
As Reese found success in women’s basketball, she began to develop a lot of hate.
She responded to those critiques, saying, “They said ‘she need to cover up’ so I went cover on VOGUE.”
She added, “They said ‘she can’t afford her rent’ so I went & bought a house.”

In January, Reese surprised her mother on an episode of her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast.
“Before we sing ‘Happy Birthday,’ you said that if your mortgage was paid off that you would retire or you won’t work,” Reese told her mom. “You can pick if you want to work still, [but] your mortgage today has been paid.”
After a sweet moment between the mother and daughter, Reese said her “biggest goal” was to “retire” her mother and pay off her mortgage.
Reese kicked off the first season of the “Unapologetically Angel” show and reached 100,000 subscribers in record time.
The WNBA star took to Instagram to express her gratitude for her fans’ support.
“From traveling from city to city for 30 episodes getting to know 30 different amazing humans,” Reese wrote. “So thankful for all my guests coming on and sharing the truth, sharing experiences, clocking tea, breaking news, being vulnerable, making me laugh and just being UNAPOLOGETICALLY YOU. Of course, we beat the odds and did things people said we couldn’t. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without my team and I’m sooo thankful for each and every one of you from top to bottom.”
From the basketball court to fashion shows to the podcast room, Reese doesn’t let anyone or anything get in her way from achieving her goals, like retiring her mother and buying a house at 22, proving her haters wrong.
