Anne Wilson shared the heart behind her new song, which was featured on Prime Video’s HOUSE OF DAVID, and how it speaks to trusting in the Lord in every circumstance.
“I hope y’all are loving my song ‘Won’t Go Wasted’ on the new #HouseOfDavidsoundtrack. This song is all about how the Lord doesn’t waste tears, heartbreak or suffering,” Wilson wrote on Instagram. “We will go through hard things in this life, but I hope this one reminds you that He truly uses it all for out good.🤍”
This message is especially close to Wilson’s heart as her career only began after being asked to sing at her brother’s funeral.
“I sang at my brother’s funeral for the first time in front of anyone and that was really the moment that I realized God was calling me to music, God was calling me to spread His name, to spread His love around the world,” Wilson told CBN in 2022. “I didn’t know what capacity that would be [in] or what that would look like, but it’s so amazing to look back and see how God used the tragedy of losing my brother to start something so incredible and change people’s lives through my songs and my ministry.”

Because her call to join the music industry came directly from God, Wilson has kept Him front and center throughout her rise. After blowing up with her first album My Jesus, Wilson continued to produce faith-based music as she leaned into her country side for her second album Rebel.
“Getting to release a song for both Country and Christian radio is beyond a dream come true for me,” Wilson said after releasing songs from the album. “These songs mean so much to me and truly describe the season of life I’ve been in this past year.”
“Having faith in the world that we live in today makes me feel a little bit like a rebel,” Wilson later added, explaining the inspiration behind the album. “It’s like when we have faith, we’re the odd ones out. But yet the world can go talk about all these horrible subjects, and it’s welcomed and invited.”
As Wilson continues her rise in the music industry, it is encouraging to see her remain committed to the Lord and continuing to produce music that speaks to His truth and the hope we find in Him, rather than falling down a secular path.
