It’s official — Snoop Dogg is officially returning to THE VOICE!
“Audiences around the world love Snoop and connect with his unparalleled showmanship and artistry,” NBCUniversal Entertainment and Studios Chairman Donna Langley said in a statement. “Those of us lucky enough to be in his orbit also know his incredible business acumen, endlessly creative spirit and the unapologetic authenticity that he brings to every project.”
Snoop will return to his role as a coach on THE VOICE. He appeared in Season 26 of the popular singing competition show.
He had previously expressed interest in returning for another season, telling host Carson Daly during the Season 26 finale, “Man, this has been a great experience for me. I didn’t know what I was signing on to, but I do know…it feels like I could come back and do it again” (via TV Line).
In addition to his role on THE VOICE, the rapper also signed a “new creative partnership” deal with NBCUniversal that extends across film, television, sports entertainment and streaming.
“There’s only one Snoop, and we’re so excited for him to join our unbelievable roster of creative partners,” Langley added.
Part of this creative deal includes the movie the rapper is currently working on for Universal. The project, still untitled, will tell the story of Snoop’s life.
“Not everyone has the courage and vision to see what Death Row Pictures can bring to the table, but Donna and the NBCUniversal team have always understood, which is why I am proud to call NBCUniversal my new home,” the rapper said in a statement. “The Dogg has officially moved into the neighborhood, ya dig?”
In addition to his TV and movie work, Snoop is also preparing for the release of his new gospel album, Altar Call.
“April 27, I’m dropping a gospel album on Death Row Records. It’s called Altar Call,” he said in an Instagram video. “You heard it first. A gospel album, April 27. God is good. Won’t He do it?”
The album is a tribute to his late mother, and Snoop told Okayplayer that he channeled her spirit and influence while creating it.
“The spirit of my mother will forever live within me. This album is a reflection of what she has taught me — to use my voice and my platform to spread love and heal the world,” he said.
With all these upcoming projects, it looks like 2025 will be a busy year for Snoop Dogg.
