The BLUEY YouTube series where celebrities read BLUEY books is back for a second season, starting with Elmo and Cookie Monster reading a book about play.

“A SESAME STREET-BLUEY collaboration is the perfect way to provide entertaining and engaging content to fans of both popular series,” said Jenny Gioia, the VP of Content and Programming at Sesame Workshop. “We are excited to have Elmo and Cookie Monster encourage playful learning and a love of reading with BLUEY BOOK READS.”

Season 2 kicked off with the episode featuring these SESAME STREET characters and will periodically release new episodes through Aug. 5, featuring the likes of Elijah Wood, Meg Washington and Michael Sheen.

The BLUEY BOOK READS series launched in February 2024 and has since garnered over 75 million views, encouraging millions of kids to enjoy reading. At the same time, BLUEY continues to be one of the most popular children’s franchises, offering content that this both entertaining and kid-friendly, teaching important lessons in a way that young minds can understand. A portion of Movieguide®’s review of season one reads:

BLUEY: Season One is a wonderfully animated children show with a high production value. BLUEY is entertaining not just for children, but also adults. The comedy is witty enough to get a good chuckle out of parents. Even better, the program has strong family morals and lessons that both children and adults can learn. It has a positive depiction of Bluey’s relationship with her sister, mother and father. There are also common themes of sharing, learning and growing up. There is no foul language or other objectionable content. MOVIEGUIDE® finds BLUEY: Season One suitable for all ages.

The show continues to be extremely popular, and this last week alone, it nearly streamed over 1 billion minutes on Disney+, making it the fourth most-watched piece of content on streaming, despite not releasing any new episodes since April of 2024.

As BLUEY continues to maintain its incredible popularity, the franchise has been involved in multiple collaborations that have been just as popular. These include a Build-A-Bear line that sold out instantly and a Lego collection.

“LEGO® Bluey merges the globally adored world of BLUEY with the fun and creative possibilities of the LEGO universe for the very first time,” Lego’s website reads. “We’re aiming to create as many fun moments of imaginative roleplay and creativity for families as they build, as you can see Bluey and her family having when you watch the show!”

It is encouraging to see such an uplifting show remain so popular and teach kids valuable lessons that are age-appropriate and biblically sound.
