A survey of more than 1,000 anti-discrimination laws in the 50 states by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty has found that the approval of same-sex marriage threatens the Christian church’s liberty to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to condemn the wickedness of homosexuality and pedophilia.
In fact, the Becket Fund found that people, both Christians and non-Christians, who conscientiously object to same-sex marriage, homosexuality, cross dressing, and even homosexual pedophilia or pederasty might be sued under many laws.
The Becket Fund also found that the religious exemptions in many anti-discrimination laws are very narrow.
“In the meantime,” notes Brian Gardner of The Opinion Times, “a movement designed to intimidate those who oppose ‘gay rights’ is beginning to form across the country.”
Some of the tactics, including recent demonstrations and vandalism at Mormon Churches, in San Francisco and at the Rev. Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church in Southern California, resemble the jackbooted street thuggery of Adolph Hitler’s brownshirts, whom were noted for their acceptance of homosexuality and sadomasochism as well as their hatred for Jews.
Apparently, with the victory of Proposition 8 in California supporting traditional marriage and Barack Obama’s election as President, the Culture Wars have heated up.
