James Dobson of Focus on the Family has condemned new “hate crimes” legislation in Congress that could give special protection to pedophiles and same-sex marriage.
There is “utter evil” coming from Congress these days, Dobson said, adding:
“The radical left controls the executive branch through the president, and the Congress where the Democrats have control of both the House and the Senate.”
The new bill pending in the U.S. Senate, S. 909, would “create penalties against ‘victims’ who [are] chosen based on an ‘actual or perceived. . . sexual orientation, gender identity'” writes reporter Bob Unruh of WorldNetDaily.
Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) said the bill not only could protect pedophiles but also impose same-sex marriage on the states, no matter what state officials or voters say.
There is no reason whatsoever to have such “civil rights” legislation. The Bill of Rights and the nation’s criminal laws already protect the right to life, liberty and property of every legal United States citizen. America’s political leaders and judges should focus on enforcing the Bill of Rights and the current criminal laws!
