MOVIEGUIDE® congratulates The Walt Disney Company (aka “The House that Mickey Mouse Built”) on its new $4 billion buy of comic book company Marvel and its famous superhero characters, including Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, Wolverine, and X-Men.
We are, however, concerned about one thing – the mature, sometimes pagan themes in some Marvel properties, such as Thor, Wolverine and the X-Men.
We remind Disney, and all other companies in Hollywood and the entertainment industry, that there are still two billion Christians in the world and that even Non-Christians respond to Christian, biblical and redemptive themes and family-friendly content.
In fact, year in and year out, MOVIEGUIDE®’s annual, comprehensive Report to the Entertainment Industry shows that movies, home videos and television programs with family-friendly, biblical, Christian, or redemptive content generally make the most money and do the best in the TV ratings.
The 2009 Report to the Entertainment Industry will be highlighted at the 18th Annual MOVIEGUIDE® Faith & Values Awards Gala, to be held Feb. 23, 2010 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. Calif.
