By Movieguide® Contributor

A new promo for WHEN CALLS THE HEART’s upcoming eleventh season shows some major changes coming.

The clip shows Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) telling Rosemary (Pascale Hutton), “I think I’d like to change my hair.”

After debuting her new shorter style, Nathan (Kevin McGarry) says, “Wow, you look—you look great.”

WHEN CALLS THE HEART has been teasing a romance between Elizabeth and Nathan, and fans are ready to see where this new season takes the pair.

“Season 10 ended with the two sharing at least a couple moments after the end of her and Lucas’ (Chris McNally) relationship,” TV Insider noted.

“Now, in Season 11, Hallmark has teased, Elizabeth embarks on a fresh start – with new romance, new challenges, and new style,” the outlet added.

Entertainment Tonight reported that Season 11 “will explore renewal and redemption,” adding that viewers will see Elizabeth get “a fresh start” and explore “growing romantic feelings” with Nathan.

“Time has flown by since the end of season 10, and I cannot put into words how thrilled I am for the premiere of Season 11 of WHEN CALLS THE HEART,” Krakow, who also serves as an executive producer on the show, said

She continued, “It’s such a warm feeling to know that we have the loyalty, love, and longevity to make it this far and that is a true testament to our viewers.  I’m beyond proud and grateful to our hard-working crew, writers, producers, cast, and Hallmark Channel for their vision and support.  I cannot wait for viewers to tune in to this season and to continue on this journey with all of us! Season 11 delivers more heart than ever before!”

Movieguide® previously reported on Season 11 of WHEN CALLS THE HEART:

As WHEN CALLS THE HEART season 10 draws to a close, fans have anxiously wondered what the future holds for Hope Valley and for Chris McNally’s character Lucas.

In an interview, showrunner Lindsay Sturman revealed that Lucas will return in season 11.

“Lucas is one of our leads and he always will be and he’s an incredible actor,” Sturman said. “His journey is incredibly exciting in season 11. And I think that…we get to see a side of him that we didn’t know…We went back and kind of mined what did we know about him, and then…carry those stories through because…there’s so much richness to the stories that we inherited. And then just growing them from there.”

While Lucas and Elizabeth’s (Erin Krakow) paths “were diverging,” his story will move in a new direction.

“I’m excited for…the direction that Lucas is going in,” McNally said. “And I think that it is a different avenue of storytelling or different stories that can come in for Hope Valley. It’s a town that is alive and it has a pulse and things shift and change and evolve, and I think it’s great. I’m very optimistic about it.”

Movieguide® also reported on co-creator and executive producer Brian Bird’s promise that there will be no love triangles:

For any heartbroken WHEN CALLS THE HEART fans, Bird promised good things are coming.

“It took us five seasons to get Elizabeth and Jack (Daniel Lissing) married before Jack had to leave town,” Bird said. “This show has always been a slow burn and we feel like we have to stay true to all of that.”

In another interview, Bird made it clear that there will be no love triangles in the next season.

“We don’t want to go there,” he said. “You know, sometimes love triangles are things that are manufactured in storytelling.”

Bird explained that he dislikes when “people pick teams,” creating opposing sides that “sort of feed on each other.”
