Actor and Composer: ‘There Is a Hunger and Craving for Family-Friendly, Faith-Filled Quality Entertainment’

The dip in Netflix and Disney stocks are evidence of a growing contingency of people who are dissatisfied with the media’s offerings and in turn are seeking wholesome content, Christian actor and composer Aaron Fullan says.
“There’s a movement going on right now. In our nation, there is a hunger and craving for family friendly, faith-filled quality entertainment. It’s not a coincidence that Disney stock is dropping. Netflix stock is dropping the nation the world is hungry for something else,” Fullan said in a recent video posted to social media.
His monologue comes with a request to work with Candace Cameron Bure to pursue more wholesome projects. Despite the silliness of the video, Fullan makes excellent points backed by box office and streaming numbers.
Even this weekend, the family-oriented THE BAD GUYS, which contains several biblical themes, beat out unacceptable movies like FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORE, and the excessive THE NORTHMAN. SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 came in second place.
“The very positive critical and audience reaction to The Bad Guys echoes the overperformance of our title at the domestic box office this weekend and deservedly so as this is a broad, action-packed, charming film with clever comedy for the entire family,” said Jim Orr of Universal.
Meanwhile, since Disney’s latest controversy over including LGBTQ themes in their movies, their stock has plummeted.
Per Fox News, Disney’s “stock reached an all-time high in March 2021, trading at nearly $200 per share. But it has been in free fall ever since. As the market closed Thursday, the stock was hovering near $120 per share – down roughly 33% from a year ago.”
Disney also recently made the decision to include mature content on Disney+ after previously promising the streaming platform would remain a safe haven for families.
The disenchantment, though, with streaming services and movies that dishonor God give Christians the chance to devote their entertainment dollars to projects that do. For entertainers like Fullan, this means a greater opportunity to participate in the projects fans want to see.
“My goal as an artist is to honor the Lord with my gifts and talents, to not waste my life doing frivolous things and frivolous work just to earn a paycheck,” Fullan says. “It’s bigger than that. God gives each of us gifts and talents to use in a very specific way. And when you’re doing that, nothing is impossible.”
