Ali Laundry recently spoke on the Jesus Calling podcast, sharing about her early life, journey to fame, and struggles she has faced.
Ali grew up in small town southwestern Louisiana with a large family. Despite her closeness to her family members and small community, Ali knew she was destined for more.
“I always knew there was more for me than just staying in my small town” she shared on the podcast. “I knew there was a big world out there and I knew I’d probably have to leave my beloved small town to go on my personal journey.”
While in college, Ali came across the opportunity to complete for the title of Miss Louisiana. Her mom was reluctant to the idea, but Ali decided to move forward. She competed and won.
“My prayer has always been ‘Lord let them see your light in me,’” she said. “Right before I’d walk on that stage every time that was my prayer.”
Ali moved on to become Miss USA and many opportunities followed her. Despite her success, Ali encountered devastation when she realized she was betrayed while in a long-term relationship.
“I was devastated, I felt like it was a death. It was a very public relationship and Oprah Winfrey filmed the wedding. And then the world came crashing down when I found out everything that had happened.”
“I remember my mom saying like ‘Why aren’t you angry?’ and I thought to myself because I need to move forward in my life with my heart fully healed.”
Ali shared how God had given her many red flags about the relationship, but she ignored him and got married anyway. After this happened, she chose to fully trust God and to allow him to heal her.
On her journey to healing, Ali wrote a list of everything she wanted in her next relationship. “I wanted somebody that was equally yoked.” She said.
While auditioning for a film, the lead actor invited her to a bible study. She went to the bible study and met her husband.
“I feel like all those days where I wrote specifically what I wanted in a partner, in a husband, my husband showed up as that.” She shared on the podcast.
A short while later, Ali landed her dream job as a talk show host. As much as she thought she would love her job, she began experiencing exhaustion and debilitating brain fog that was interfering with her duties. An article on kpel965.com shared: “She began noticing she wasn’t feeling like herself anymore. Exhaustion, brain fog, thinning hair, slow digestion, and sleep issues became the norm for her. Until she decided that wasn’t how she wanted to live her life anymore. Ali Landry wasn’t going to settle. Ali made a life-changing decision to take her health back. She did so through research, prayer, interviews, and product testing. Now, with her gained knowledge, she has a passion to make a difference for others.”
Ali shared on the podcast that she saw a naturopath and did a full blood panel, which gave her the answers to what was going on. She was able to address those issues and become her best self again.
Today Ali continues to work, and be a wife and a mother to her three children. She frequently posts about her faith on Instagram and shares many encouraging messages. She has also written a book titled “Reshape Your Life” encourages others to have faith and make position life changes.
