Alabama QB Leads Team to Top Ranking as He Looks to Christ

After their incredible win against Georgia on Saturday night, the Alabama Crimson Tide have returned to the top of the rankings.
“Thanks in large part to the play of redshirt junior quarterback Jalen Milroe, Alabama took out previously-No. 2 Georgia, 41-34, on Saturday, leapfrogging Texas and Ohio State into the No. 1 ranking,” Sports Spectrum reported.
In their game against the Bulldogs, Milroe completed “27 of his 33 passing attempts for 374 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed 16 times for 117 yards and two more touchdowns.”
Milroe is undoubtedly one of the top college quarterbacks, but that status isn’t his priority.
“I get my strength from my Lord and Savior,” he said last season. “I honestly say that, and I surrender my throne to Him, and I know that I can lean on Him no matter the circumstance. I honestly say I put my trust in Him no matter what.
“That’s where I get my strength at. My favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13: ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’ And I can honestly say that. I can always lean on my Lord and Savior through any situation,” he added.

In 2022, the quarterback told The Alabama Baptist that he and his teammates are more than just athletes.
“I just want people to know that we’re more than athletes,” he urged. “We’re student-athletes — we have things going on. Also, like myself and other people, we’re big on faith.”
If it wasn’t for his faith, Milroe doesn’t think he would be the man he is today.
“When it came to my faith, it was important to me because that allowed me to walk with purpose, and it drove me to do other things beyond my sport,” he revealed.
Movieguide® previously reported on Milroe’s faith:
“The Bible says, do not lean on your understanding … lean on the Lord through it all. That’s been big because here at Bama you’re challenged day in and day out. Sometimes you can get weary; sometimes you can waver away from your end goal,” he expressed.
“But you know that God has a purpose. God wants us to lean on Him through it all. Every day I’m challenged. No matter what, I know that I can lean on Him. Not only for the bad, but I can lean on Him [also] for good and thank Him,” he added.
“No matter what it is, He’s the one who strengthens me,” Milroe concluded. “When you’re having a rough moment, when it feels like everything is against you, just know God is the One who is going to uplift you and push you to your ultimate — wherever you want to go.”
“Christ is who I can fall on no matter what it is—no matter the circumstance, no matter what’s going on. Christ is within me. With my faith, it honestly catapults me to what I want to do. There’s nothing I can’t do because of the Man above.”
