Alec Baldwin Describes Impact of RUST Shooting on His Kids

Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria recently opened up about how much the shooting incident on the set of RUST has impacted their family.
“The past three years has been a significant chunk of my children’s lives,” Hilaria confessed during the first episode of the couple’s new reality series THE BALDWINS. “Our older ones were much younger but have had the awareness because of their age to be able to understand what’s going on. The youngest three don’t know a life without this.”
Baldwin was charged with involuntary manslaughter for his involvement in the RUST shooting, which resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021, CNN reported. Director Joel Souza was injured.

The episode was filmed just over a week before Baldwin went to trial, where the judge would dismiss all charges against the actor.
“Our lives are very, very different,” Baldwin said. “Our children have been forced to recognize that. They’ve been forced to deal with that, with us in their own way.”
“They’ve had some really unfortunate realizations about things that are going on,” Hilaria added. “Life will forever be different. Halyna lost her life in the most unthinkable tragedy; a son lost his mom. We are going to feel and carry this pain forever. This will be a part of our family story.”
THE BALDWINS premiered on Feb. 23 and “gives viewers a glimpse into our lives as a family — the good, bad, wild, and everything in between,” the couple explained. “We hope viewers will connect with our experiences and the love we share.”
